At  this time of the year it was mainly a garden of  green broken only by the flashes of colour from the many early flowering Camellias.

I have never seen so many Bird-nest Ferns planted in a formal garden before. They were planted in pots, large terracotta pipes, in rows in the ground , in old hollow tree trunks and self propagating on the many formal stone walls and on boulders in the more natural areas in the bushy gully garden section.

The annuals that had just been planted in the open garden beds will be a mass of colour in spring as will be the many other flowering shrubs that adorn this magnificent garden.   Lisga Gardens

Although this large park has both natural and well planted out areas it was the flowering weeds that caught my eyes on this outing.
