Top End and The Centre (Northern Territory). 24th May 2013

I didn't have a chance to photograph any plants to day as I was finishing a train journey and then  commencing a flight home after a week away, mainly in the Top End (Northern Territory). So, today's collection are those plants which I just happened to come across visiting areas mainly around Darwin and some from The Desert Park in Alice Springs, finishing with a few taken from a bus and the Ghan train over the last 6 days.

I apologise for the lack of names for most of the plants as they were all new for me.

Bambusa arnhemica.  One of our 3 native bamboos.

Banksia dentate  -  Tropical Banksia.  (Kakadu).

The only Banksia species native to the NT. It is also the only

Banksia species not endemic to Australia, extending into the

islands north of Australia through the Torres Straits

 to New Guinea.
